Last Monday, my friend Colin and I returned from our vacation in Anatone, Washington to visit our good friend Shiloh. Where is Anatone, you ask? It's located up on a mountain in the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley near the borders with both Idaho and Oregon. Population: 38! Our friend Shane drove us to the airport in Ft. Lauderdale, and we had a layover in Denver. We landed in Spokane at around 11:30 PM (we were a bit early). Shiloh then picked us up and being the over 7-foot tall dude he is, gave me a bear hug and lifted me up into the air with no effort whatsoever! On the drive up to his house in Anatone, we could see literally every star in the sky. It was nothing short of awe-inspiring, and pictures really don't do it justice. Snow was unusually light for February, which is normally the heaviest month for it. We did still have a blast snowmobiling up on Mt. Misery (quite the opposite of a miserable time!), which was about an hour away. It did snow a lot right after we left, though! Shiloh's parents are also amazing and very kind people, making us several delicious meals and giving us some valentines day gifts and souvenirs! Overall, I'd give my trip an 11/10! Very friendly people, beautiful scenery, and a rustic and charming experience of small-town America!
